Ken Follett
THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH

Set against a backdrop of war, religious strife and power struggles in 12th Century England, THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH is an ambitious eight-hour series of Ken Follett’s masterpiece — an enduring love story masterfully entwined with political turmoil. The all-star cast includes: Ian McShane (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Deadwood, Sexy Beast), Rufus Sewell (The Tourist, The Illusionist, A Knight’s Tale), Matthew Macfadyen (Robin Hood, Pride and Prejudice), Eddie Redmayne (Glorious 39, The Good Shepherd), Hayley Atwell (Captain America, The Duchess, Any Human Heart), Donald Sutherland (The Italian Job), Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Any Human Heart) and Sarah Parish (Merlin). Director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Battlestar Galactica, Heroes) and Executive Producers Tony and Ridley Scott present THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH, the epic event of the summer.

Trevor Morris, who provided the accompaniment for all four seasons of The Tudors, is back to score another ambitious royal tale.

THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH began airing on Starz on July 23.

Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Music Composed by Michael Giacchino

An alienated 12-year-old boy befriends a mysterious young newcomer in his small New Mexico town, and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood in Let Me In, a haunting and provocative thriller.

Twelve-year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee, The Road) is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz, Kick-Ass), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins, The Visitor). Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond. When a string of grisly murders puts the town on high alert, Abby's father disappears, and the terrified girl is left to fend for herself. Still, she repeatedly rebuffs Owen’s efforts to help her and her increasingly bizarre behavior leads the imaginative Owen to suspect she’s hiding an unthinkable secret.

Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up) provides a suitably unsettling score, laced with melancholy and intrigue.

Overture Films opens LET ME IN nationwide on October 1.

Click to see the details ANGELO BADALAMENTI
Music For Film And Television

Dirk Brossé • Brussels Philharmonic

Angelo Badalamenti is the composer of some of the most beautiful and evocative film music of recent times. Most famous for his haunting and hypnotic music for such David Lynch productions as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, Badalamenti’s soundtracks have been best-sellers. The composer’s theme and music for Bravo TV’s Inside The Actors Studio has similarly become iconic.

A special tribute concert was performed to honor Angelo Badalamenti at the 2009 Ghent International Film Festival and, in separate recording sessions, the concert program was recorded with conductor Dirk Brossé.

Over 70 minutes of Badalamenti’s music is presented here:
Blue Velvet • Twin Peaks • Inside The Actors Studio • Mulholland Drive • A Very Long Engagement

The collection also includes a couple of very special pieces. The entrancing song Who Will Take My Dreams Away was co-written with singer Marianne Faithful, who sings on this recording. Badalamenti also composed the music for the lighting of the Olympic torch at the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympic Games and this rarity also appears here.

Angelo Badalamenti: Music For Film and Television is an outstanding collection of the composer’s best work.
