The Credibility Gap began as a satirical daily newscast on rock station KRLA-AM, Los Angeles in the late 1960s. They developed sketches and songs to punctuate the news, and soon comedians started appearing among the newsmen, including Harry Shearer (This Is Spinal Tap, The Simpsons), David L. Lander (Laverne & Shirley, Saturday Night Live), and Michael McKean (This Is Spinal Tap, Laverne & Shirley, Saturday Night Live).

This collection of their classic satirical on-air radio newscasts has been unavailable for over 25 years, and is now on CD for first time.
