Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Coasters were one of the most popular groups to come out of Los Angeles in the late 50s and early 60s. With the writing and producing team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller (who had written Jailhouse Rock for Elvis, Stand By Me for Ben E. King, as well as Along Came Jones and Charlie Brown), The Coasters charted almost two dozen hits. The release features the last recordings The Coasters made with Leiber and Stoller, including Down Home Girl,Mustang Sally,Cool Jerk, and the classic Barry Mann, Leiber-Stoller song On Broadway. This is the first time these historic Coasters recordings have been presented properly on CD. The album includes the chart hit Love Potion Number Nine,as well as D.W. Washburn, recorded before The Monkees and considered a masterpiece in the same class as Leiber-Stollers Peggy Lee recording of Is That All There Is? All tracks were produced by Leiber-Stoller.
