Broadcast News was a major film release for 20th Century Fox back in 1987 and was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (William Hurt), Best Actress (Holly Hunter), Best Supporting Actor (Albert Brooks) and Best Original Screenplay (James L. Brooks). Despite writing a charming and infectious score for one of the year�s biggest hits, Bill Conti continued to be one of the most unrepresented composers of the day when it came to soundtrack releases and Broadcast News joined many other classic scores of his to go without an album. Nearly twenty years later we finally bring Bill Conti�s lovely score for Broadcast News to his many fans. This world premiere CD release presents over one hour of music which Conti wrote for this film and includes a selection of alternate and preliminary cues which went through substantial revision before the final cut.
