BRAND NEW ALBUM! In the late ’70s, the film Urban Cowboy was based on Mickey Gilley’s Club in Pasadena, Texas, and he was prominently featured in the film, as were several of his hit songs. That appearance resulted in a string of 10 Between 1968 and 1989 Gilley racked up a total of 17 #1 hits including “Room Full of Roses,” “I Overlooked an Orchid,” “City Lights,” She’s Pulling Me Back Again,” “True Love Ways,” “Stand By Me,” “That’s All That Matters,” and “A Headache Tomorrow (Or a Heartache Tonight).” In the early ’90s Mickey became one of the first country stars to open a permanent theater in Branson, MO.
